STAC FIRE TRAINING

 FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS

STAC's Fire Safety Awareness training, participants are introduced to fundamental principles and practices essential for preventing, identifying, and responding to fire hazards in various environments. The course covers a wide range of topics, starting with an understanding of fire behaviour and the potential risks associated with different types of fuels and ignition sources. Participants learn to recognise common fire hazards and apply proactive measures to mitigate them, including proper storage of flammable materials and maintenance of electrical systems. Additionally, the training emphasises the importance of early detection and prompt response, teaching participants how to effectively use fire detection and alarm systems and how to safely evacuate premises in the event of a fire. Furthermore, participants are educated on the proper use of fire extinguishers and other firefighting equipment, empowering them to take immediate action to control small fires and prevent escalation. Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on fostering a culture of fire safety awareness and promoting individual responsibility in maintaining a safe environment for oneself and others. By the end of the training, participants emerge with the knowledge and confidence to play an active role in fire prevention and response efforts, thereby contributing to the overall safety and well-being of their workplace or community​

This course is tailored toward all staff members & non-emergency response staff and is designed to teach people what to do in case of a fire and essential fire extinguisher use.

On completion of this course, participants will be able to:


• Understand the chemistry of fire and fire triangle
• Identify fire hazards in the workplace
• Understand evacuation procedures
• Understand Fire Warden duties and fire lists

• Statistics & Legislation

• Physics of fire
• Smoke behaviour
• Action in the event of a fire
• Means of raising alarm
• Extinguisher & Fire Blanket use

• Action on hearing the fire alarm
• Evacuation procedures / Fire lists

 

Duration: 1/2 Day

Participation: Maximum of 10
